An. Warrens et al., Human-porcine receptor-ligand compatibility within the immune system: relevance for xenotransplantation, XENOTRANSPL, 6(2), 1999, pp. 75-78
Immune responses to xenografts are likely to be highly dependent on the eff
iciency of molecular interactions between the donor and the recipient speci
es. This brief review summarizes what is currently known about the compatib
ilities across the human-porcine species barrier of the molecular interacti
ons that are important in the immune response.
