Young clients' exposure to community violence: How much do their therapists know?

Although experiences of community violence are widespread and may have dele terious psychosocial consequences for children and youth,results of this ex ploratory study indicate that therapists lack substantial knowledge of thei r young clients' exposure to such violence. These findings suggest a need f or professionals to adopt strategics to assess moire systematically the rol e of community violence exposure in the problems presented by youth.
