D. Davison et al., Forest analysis under partly cloudy conditions for large mosaics of CASI data, AUTOMATED INTERPRETATION OF HIGH SPATIAL RESOLUTION DIGITAL IMAGERY FOR FORESTRY, INTERNATIONAL FORUM, 1999, pp. 255-264
Airborne multi-spectral (CASI) imagery has been acquired for several operat
ional forestry project areas in BC. The imagery from separate flight lines
have been mosaiced and georeferenced using TRIM digital elevation models. A
nalysis algorithms were developed to enable interpretation of the imagery i
n sunny, partly cloudy or totally cloudy situations. The output products in
cluded land classifications, crown closure and stem counts. Some of the ana
lysis problems and techniques are discussed with example imagery showing th
e results. The final products include maps generated at a 1:10,000 scale ac
cording to BCGS mapsheet numbering.
