Abstract
The chemiluminescence reaction of Fe ( II)-potassium permanganate with form
aldehyde as an enhancer was investigated. A new method for the determinatio
n of iron on the basis of the reaction has been developed. The detection li
mit is 4.4X10(-10) g/mL Fe, the relative standard deviation is 1.6% (6.0X10
(-8) g/mL Fe, n=11), the linear range is 1.0X10(-9)-8.0X10(-7) g/mL Fe. Thi
s method has been applied to the determination of iron in nature water. The
mechanism of this reaction was also investigated.
