Abstract
In this paper four original Japanese technologies are reviewed, to all of w hich the latex technology units are applied: (1) styrene-based resins to be formulated with a plasticizer into plastisols for replacing the existing p oly(vinyl)chloride ones in bottle cap gaskets; (2) toughening modifiers to be blended with glassy polymers for their reinforcement; (3) a coagulation spray coating system to make it possible to form a high solid membrane with no need of air-drying; and (4) non-aqueous emulsion synthesis of the spher ical fine particles of the amine/epoxy resin adduct as latent curing agents for one-component epoxy formulation.
