Abstract
Lung inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor is an uncommon cause of solitary lu ng nodule (0.7 % of lung tumors). The principal site of inflammatory pseudo tumor is the lung, but it can also occur elsewhere in various organs. Altho ugh benign, they may be locally very aggressive. Recurrent and multifocal f orms have been described. Since they are likely to mimic malignant neoplasm s, accurate histopathologic diagnosis is necessary in order to guide approp riate surgical excision and avoid aggressive treatments. We report a case o f lung involvement in a young adult wt th radiologic and pathologic correla tions.
