This study investigated computer attitudes among 131 early childhood educat
ion and care prospective practitioners. Study participants completed a demo
graphic questionnaire and the Computer Attitude Scale (CAS). Results indica
ted that the majority of these students reported relatively positive attitu
des toward computers although a sizable minority was found to have neutral
to negative attitudes. Measurement data gained from study respondents indic
ated acceptable CAS validity and reliability indexes. Significant relations
hips were found between computer attitudes and having access to a home comp
uter and having formal computer training. Implications for university facul
ty involved in preservice education are discussed.
