The electrostriction in lead scandium tantalate PST ceramics with various d
egree of ordering in the B sublattice as well as Pb deficiency is investiga
ted in the region of phase transition. The coefficient of electrostriction
Q(11) was found to be unaffected by the degree of ordering. The behavior of
the field-induced deformation in PLZT 12/50/50 and PLZT 6/80/20 ceramics b
elonging to different regions of the phase diagram, is explained by the dif
ferent characters of the phase transition in both cases.
