The preparation of the solid solution Bi4Ti3-xCuxO12 (0.005< x <0.25) has b
een recently reported. In this work we present the results of studies of th
e thermal properties done by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) from r
oom temperature up to 550 degrees C. There exists a pronounced change in th
e slope of the DSC curve in the range between 460 degrees C and 500 degrees
C, which could be associated to a complex structural rearrangement. From m
easurements of thermal photoacoustic and thermal relaxation methods the the
rmal conductivity deduced is of the order of 1.3 W/mK. There is a correlati
on between copper content and the herein reported properties.
