Abstract
The reaction of the 2-(1-methylpyridinium-3-yl) benzimidazolate betain e with an equimolar proportion of tetracyanoquinodimethane (TCNQ) in t he presence of acetonitrile results in the formation of a novel semico nducting black microcrystalline adduct having a room-temperature condu ctivity of 4.7 x 10(-3) S cm(-1).
