Abstract
Under the conditions of thermodynamic control, the diastereoselectivity of
the reaction between tryptophan esters and oxazinanes (carbonyl equivalents
) can be controlled by incorporating N-b-benzyl substituents; the reaction
proceeds in essentially quantitative yield and with trans-diastereoselectiv
ity.
