Abstract
In this paper, as a first approach toward modeling inhomogeneous bianisotro pic slabs, the electromagnetic scattering by an infinite regular array of t hin planar chiral structures disposed on grounded or ungrounded dielectric slabs is studied. The electromagnetic analysis is based on the Floquet's th eorem and the method of moments associated to quadratic wire segments. Expe rimental results concerning copolarized and cross-polarized reflection coef ficients from both grounded and ungrounded finite grids of novel planar chi ral particles are reported. Comparisons are made between numerical and expe rimental results.
