Abstract
In order to accommodate periodic and bursty sources into ATM networks effec tively we propose phase assignment control (PAC)? which actively controls t he phase of the new connection at its connection setup phase. To realize PA C, we develop an algorithm to find a good phase of the new connection in a short time. Simulation results show that the PAC can improve the system per formance.
