Y. Suyadal et H. Oguz, Dry desulfurization of simulated flue gas in a fluidized-bed reactor for abroad range of SO2 concentration and temperature: A comparison of models, IND ENG RES, 38(8), 1999, pp. 2932-2939
In this work, dry desulfurization of simulated flue gas was investigated in
a batchwise operated laboratory-scale stainless steel fluidized-bed reacto
r (46 x 500 mm(2)) by using calcium-containing local Turkish limestone (Kar
aagach/MUS) which was calcined at 900 degrees C with 5% H2O vapor. The sulf
ation reaction was carried out in a broad range of temperature (200 less th
an or equal to T(degrees C) less than or equal to 900) and SO2 feedstock co
ncentration (1000 less than or equal to C(ppm SO2) less than or equal to 60
00). The experimental sulfation conversion-time data were tested according
to unreacted shrinking core model (SCM), changing the grain size model (GM)
and random pore model (RPM). It was found that the random pore model with
control of product layer (CaSO3/CaSO4) diffusion described the experimental
data best.
