Abstract
A new effect-spontaneous crystallization of amorphous water condensate at a certain thickness of the growing film-was revealed. The heat effects obser ved during film growth and subsequent heating were studied, and the mechani cal stress developing during film growth was measured. The rapid crystalliz ation is tentatively attributed to the cracking initiated by the high mecha nical stress in the films.
