Ll. Klimenko et al., Specific features of slow brain electrical activity in eliminators of the Chernobyl' accident effects, IAN BIOL, (3), 1999, pp. 337-342
We studied the slow electrical activity of the brain in people subjected to
irradiation as a result of the Chernobyl accident and in healthy donors. T
he mean constant potential, which is an index of energy metabolism in diffe
rent regions of the cerebral cortex, is reliably lower in eliminators, as c
ompared to the donors, thus suggesting a postradiation energy deficiency of
the brain. The structure of correlations between the constant potential in
dices is different: the number of significant correlations in the group of
eliminators is lower by 30% than in the group of donors, thus suggesting di
sturbed intercentral relations in the CNS under the conditions of postradia
tion energy deficiency of the brain.
