Heats of immersion of untreated, oxidized, thermally expanded, and mod
ified forms of graphite in water, HCl, NaOH, and decane solutions were
measured. The results obtained and literature data were related to th
e properties of the graphite material surface and the liquid phases in
volved in the wetting processes.
