The finite temperature properties of the frustrated quantum antiferromagnet
ic J(1)-J(2) model are studied by an extended self-consistent mean-field me
thod. The specific heat and the spin-spin correlations are obtained in both
the Neel and collinear state limits. Results of our calculations are compa
red with that obtained by the exact diagonalization studies on finite latti
ces and by the variational spin wave approach.
