A. Pielesz et al., Adsorption and partition TLC separation of MAK-type aromatic amines, reduction products of azo dyes, J PL CHROM, 12(3), 1999, pp. 215-220
Investigation of MAK-type aromatic amines has been performed by adsorption
and partition TLC. The results obtained enabled elucidation of the influenc
e of modifier, type of the adsorbent, and the structure of the examined com
pounds on the selectivity of the chromatographic systems developed. Adsorpt
ion TLC was performed on silica gel with isopropanol-n-hexane as mobile pha
se. Normal-phase partition TLC was performed on bonded amino, cyano, and di
ol plates with isopropanol-n-hexane as mobile phase whereas reversed-phase
partition TLC was performed on RP-2, RP-8, and RP-18 plates with methanol-w
ater mixtures as mobile phases. These chromatographic systems enable the an
alysis of aromatic amines which are the reduction products of azo dyes as t
heir multicomponent mixtures.
