Abstract
An alumina hydrosol is synthesized by controlled hydrolysis of an aqueous s olution of aluminium chloride using the thermal decomposition of urea. Afte r dialysis, a transparent and fluid colloidal dispersion is obtained which can be used to prepare alumina coatings.
