A thermoelectric study of the KSbMoO6 (KSM) ionic conductive ceramic was do
ne. In the study, the variations of permittivity and dielectric loss with t
emperature were recorded. Four fundamental effects were detected: two in th
e range 50 - 200 degrees C which are attributed to the dehydration of the m
aterial, and two related to phase transformations above 200 degrees C. The
enthalpies Delta H involved in the processes are reported. The thermal beha
vior was also studied by Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) and Thermo
gravimetric Analysis (TGA). A coincidence between the thermal and the elect
rical technique was observed. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science S.A. All rights res
