This paper develops a conceptual base for undergraduate communications
courses which enhances learning, improves motivation, provides a form
at for suggesting practical applications, constructs a framework for d
esign and analysis, and illustrates correlation with other engineering
subjects. Examples apply the conceptual base to specific topics, and
student evaluations illustrate its effectiveness.
