Abstract
A method is described for the analysis of mixtures containing sequence isom ers of oligonucleotides. The approach consists of an electrospray ionizatio n mass spectrometric analysis in direct combination with HPLC separation. M ass spectrometry can provide sequence information based on the fragmentatio n patterns of oligonucleotides allowing the simultaneous characterization o f sequence isomers. An example is shown for the characterization of a mixtu re of dCAGT, dCGTA, dTCAG, dAGTC and dTCGA.
