Abstract
We reported previously that protein kinase C delta (PKC delta) is the main isoenzyme in various types of murine mast cells. In the present study we in vestigated the regulation of expression of PKC delta gene in murine mast ce lls in vitro and in vivo. The mRNA expressions of PKC delta were promoted i n response to interleukin-3 (IL-3) or immunoglobulin E (IgE) in mouse masto cytoma P-815 cells. In addition we have evaluated the mast cells which expr ess PKC delta mRNA in IgE-dependent passive cutaneous anaphylaxis reaction, using in situ hybridization with the antisense riboprobe in skin. These re sults indicate that mast cell activation can induce a marked promotion in s teady state levels of PKC delta mRNA. (C) 1999 Academic Press.
