Abstract
A formalism based on perturbation theory and symmetry considerations is use d to determine relations between the first-order (Ham) reduction factors in Jahn-Teller systems of icosahedral symmetry. Analytical and numerical resu lts for reduction factors determined previously by different authors are sh own to satisfy the sum rules obtained.
