Abstract
The essential oil of Eucalyptus apodophylla exploited in Burkina Faso consi sts mainly in monoterpenes (53.7-66.9%) and sesquiterpenes (9.0-10.0%). It is characterized by important amounts (15.2-32.9%) of arenic ketones belong ing to the series of torquatone and of jensenone. Among them, two new struc tures, apodophyllone and isotorquatone, were clearly identified by H-1 and C-13 NMR. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
