Abstract
In addition to the known soyasaponin I, 3-O-[alpha-L-rhamnopyranosyl(1 --> 2)-beta-D-galactopyranosyl(1 --> 2-beta-D-glucuronopyranosyl]-22-O-[beta-D- glucuronopyranosyl(1 --> 2)-beta-D-glucopyranosyl]soyasapogenol B, soyasapo nin II, 3-O-beta-D-glucopyranosyl sitosterol, 3-O-beta-D-glucopyranosyl sti gmasterol and 3-O-alpha-L-arabinopyranosyl-(1 --> 6)-beta-D-glucopyranosyl] oct-1-ene-3-ol, the new saponin, 3-O-alpha-L-rhamnopyranosyl(1 --> 2)-beta- D-galactopyranosyl(1 --> 2)-beta-D-glucuronopyranosyl]-22-O-beta-D-glucopyr anosyl soyasapogenol B (2) was isolated and characterised from the seed sap onins fraction of Trifolium resupinatum. The structural determination is ba sed on spectroscopic methods (including DQF-COSY, HETCOR, TOCSY, ROESY and NOEs experiments). (C) 1999 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
