Abstract
In this paper, we present two efficient iterative procedures for the d esign of equiripple digital allpass filters with real coefficients and complex coefficients, respectively. Although the design problems are found to be rational minimax approximation problems, they can be solve d efficiently by computing a sequence of maximum eigenvectors. The pap er concludes with design examples which illustrate the algorithms deve loped and demonstrate their efficiency and performance. It is shown th at the presented approaches are much more efficient than the previousl y proposed design methods and yield better results. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science B.V.
