Instrument dependence and influence of heating rate, mass, Delta H, purge gas and flow rate on the difference between the experimental and programmedtemperature of the instrument
R. Keuleers et al., Instrument dependence and influence of heating rate, mass, Delta H, purge gas and flow rate on the difference between the experimental and programmedtemperature of the instrument, THERMOC ACT, 333(1), 1999, pp. 67-71
It has been observed that for endothermic decomposition processes a thermal
analysis unit may fail to follow the programmed temperature. A more thorou
gh study shows that the magnitude of the failure of a thermal analysis unit
, i.e. the difference between the experimental and programmed temperature,
is dependent on the type of the instrument and is also influenced by the he
ating rate, the mass of the sample, the enthalpy change (Delta H) of the pr
ocess, the purge gas and the flow rate. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All
