Abstract
Aim: To describe the sonographic findings in acute diverticulitis of the ve rmiform appendix. A case report and a review of literature are used to pres ent the sonographic appearance, special clinical aspects and the pathogenes is of this rare entity, Conclusion: Acute diverticulitis of the vermiform a ppendix presents certain sonographic features, which allow preoperative dia gnosis and differentiation from acute appendicitis and right colonic divert iculitis.
