Ore samples from three uranium mineralisations in North Eastern Nigeri
a, namely the Kanawa, Zona and Gubrunde occurrences located in the Gub
runde horst were analysed for 26 elements using Instrumental Neutron A
ctivation Analysis (INAA). The elements Ba, Cs, V, Rb, Sb, Hf and Pa(T
h) show very similar distribution with uranium in all the samples and
could therefore serve as pathfinders of the uranium. Other elements li
ke Ce, Co, Lu, and So do not exhibit any particular trend while the ma
jor elements Al, Ti, Fe, Mg, Ca and Na show distributions which may be
closely related to the host rocks of the mineralisations.
