Methacrylate-based copolymers with 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate and 2,3-epox
ypropyl methacrylate, respectively, were synthesised and investigated as co
stabilisers for PVC. It was found that these polymers are capable of improv
ing the induction time of PVC dehydrochlorination. This costabilising effec
t is dependent on the amount of functional groups which have been introduce
d into the copolymer. The new costabilisers interact with most used kinds o
f stabilisers and are capable of partly substituting the metal stabilisers.
