Abstract
Passive mode-locking of a cw lamp-pumped Nd:YAG laser using nonlinear polar ization switching in a type-II SHG crystal is reported. Light pulses with m ore than 5 W of average power and pulse duration shorter than 25 ps have be en obtained at 1064 nm.
