Abstract
The symmetry species conversion rates of CD3 groups are calculated usi ng a model in which the interaction between the quadrupolar moment of the deuterons with the electric field gradient at the site of the nucl eus causes symmetry changing transitions. The results are compared wit h those for the corresponding protonated species embedded in the same surrounding.
