Abstract
The influence of energetic ions on the stability of ideal double kink modes in a tokamak plasma with negative magnetic shear is investigated . It is found that the fast ions play a similar role as for the ordina ry m = n = 1 internal kink. In particular, phenomena analogous to sawt ooth stabilization and fishbone excitation are possible.
