The paper presents a case study of a nine-step approach for conducting manu
facturing process reengineering. The approach consists of a modeling framew

ed from existing modeling techniques. The study was conducted at a major co
mputer manufacturer to solve several organizational and technical problems
that were directly related to long product cycle time. Some of the successe
s of the study include a 75% reduction in cycle time and in work-in-process
