The crystal structure of Oa-containing magnetoplumbite has been refined by
the X-ray diffraction: method (automated diffractometer, lambda MoKalpha-ra
diation, graphite monochromator, 2 theta/theta-scan, 533 crystallographical
ly nonequivalent reflection, R = 0.026). The unit-cell parameters are a = 5
.858(1), c = 23.044(5) Angstrom, sp. gr P6(3)/mmc, Z = 2, rho(calc) = 5.841
g/cm(3). It has been established that Ca3+-ions are located mainly in tetr
ahedra and occupy them statistically together with Fe3+-ions. The studies o
f magnetic and magnetoelectric properties provided the determination of the
magnetic-symmetry class.
