Hydrogen selenates of the compositions K(HSeO4)(H2SeO4) and Cs(HSeO4)(H2SeO
4) are:synthesized by the reaction of alkali metal carbonates with an exces
s of the concentrated selenic acid, The X-ray diffraction study showed that
both compounds are isostructural to the corresponding hydrogen sulfates, T
he difference in the systems of hydrogen bonding are caused by various comb
inations of the acceptor functions of the oxygen atoms in the HSeO4 and H2S
eO4 groups.
