Abstract
It is shown that in measurements of mobile handset antennas a cap on the co axial feed cable inserted relatively close to the handset acts practically like an open termination to the induced currents on the surface of the phon e chassis. Therefore, the measurement results with the cap are much closer to those of an isolated handset than without any countermeasures or with fe rrite chokes.
