We numerically investigate the dynamics and radiation of multiple charged i
ons in intense laser fields. The large magnetic component of the applied la
ser intensities in association with high electron velocities close to the i
onic core results in an extremely high Lorentz force in the vicinity of the
ionic core. As a consequence me observe an essentially vanishing mean expe
ctation value of the electronic wave packet distinctively around the ionic
core. At the end of the laser pulse the hollowing-out of the ion is reverse
d and gives rise to X-ray radiation.
