YBa2Cu3O7 bulk samples were synthesized by the melt textured seeding proces
s in high magnetic fields, using high field heat treatment equipment instal
led with an 11 T cryocooled superconducting magnet. The K-ray rocking curve
s of (005) and (006) indicate that the texture in grain of the YBa2Cu3O7 ma
trix was improved by applying a magnetic field of only a few tesla. Moreove
r, it is found that the distribution of Y2BaCuOx particles was changed by a
pplying a magnetic field of approximate to 10 T, The critical current prope
rties are remarkably influenced by applying a magnetic field during melt gr
owth processing.
