Abstract
A SuperSMES is composed of inverters connected in series to a power system and another inverter in parallel, and a superconducting magnet for energy s torage. It is a universal power quality controller because of its multi-pur pose ability. The application presented here aims Pt a general filtering sy stem in large industrial power consumers. The SuperSMES can provide sinusoi dal and balanced voltage to loads which are sensitive for voltage distortio n and unbalancing. It also eliminates current harmonics ana unbalance in th ree phase lines of the distribution system, which now upstream of the conne cting point. The ability was demonstrated by simulation results.
