Abstract
In order to increase current capacity of a mechanical persistent current sw itch (PCS) which realizes zero contact resistance, parallel connection is s uitable for no reduction in the total OFF resistance due to infinite OFF re sistance of each PCS, In this study, a mechanism of the sequential quench i n the parallel circuit of two mechanical PCS's was clarified by numerical a nalysis of changes in the currents before and after the quench as well as b y considering the quench time lag property investigated with the pulsed cur rent. Additionally, it was discussed whether a quenched PCS in the parallel circuit could recover its superconducting state by making it open and then close again.
