Abstract
Equilibria of the reactions of a Zn(II) 'picket-fence' porphyrin complex be aring optically active substituents with chiral amines were studied. Stabil ity constants were determined by spectrophotometric titration in dichlorome thane solution. Chiral recognition in the complexation of amine to the alph a,beta,alpha,beta-isomer of the complex was observed for 1-(1-naphthyl)ethy lamine with the ratio of the binding constant of K-s/K-R = 2.4.
