SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF NEW PHOSPHANYLIUM AND PHOSPHANETRIYLAMMONIUM SALTS - MOLECULAR-STRUCTURES OF [(ME(2)N)PN(ALCL3)R] AND [P(NPR2I)(NHR)](-) (R=C(6)H(2)BU(3)(T)-2,4,6)()[CF3SO3]()

The new internal salts [(R(1)R(2)N)PN(ECl(3))R] (E = Al or Ga; R = 2,4
,6-Bu(3)(t)C(6)H(2)) and phosphanylium salts [P(NR(1)R(2))(NHR)](+)[C6
(3)SO(3)](-) have been synthesized by treating aminoiminophosphanes (R
(1)R(2)N)P=NR with AlCl3, GaCl3 or CF3SO3H. Protonation of RHN-P=NR wi
th trifluoromethanesulfonic acid led to the first stable phosphanylium
salt [P(NHR)(2)](+)[CF3SO3](-) with two primary amino groups. In cont
rast, the reaction of AlCl3 with the (aryloxy) iminophosphane (R'O) P=
NR (R' = 4.Me-2,6-Bu(2)(t)C(6)H(2)) led to the new aryl(phosphanetriyl
)ammonium complex [PNR](+)[(R'O)AlCl3](-). All compounds were characte
rized by multinuclear NMR spectroscopy. The crystal structures of [(Me
(2)N)PN(AlCl3)R] and [P(NPr2i)(NHR)](+)[(CFSO3)-S-3](-) have been dete
rmined by single-crystal X-ray diffractometry.
