Abstract
The purpose of this study was to explore two questions: (I) What is the con tribution of work-home conflict to work-related stress among correctional o fficers? and (2) What role does gender play in understanding the contributi on of work-home conflict to work-related stress among correctional officers ? The findings supported the prediction that work-home conflict is an impor tant contributor to work-related stress for females. The analysis, though t entative, also suggested that males experience work-home conflict but exper ience its effect at home, rather than work. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
