Abstract
We report the quasielastic neutron scattering results on an amorphous polyi mide below the glass transition temperature T-g (= 523 K). The so-called fa st process in picosecond order has been observed far below T-g. We also per formed dynamic mechanical measurements at 10 Hz to find that the beta-relax ation temperature is close to the onset temperature of the fast process alt hough the difference in the frequencies in both the measurements are more t han similar to 10(10) Hz.
