Abstract
The intermediate functions I(Q, t) obtained from neutron spin-echo (NSE) ex periments were well fitted to I(Q, t) = I(Q, 0), exp[-(Gamma t)(2/3)] for t he bicontinuous microemulsion and the lamellar phases of the C12E5/n-octane /water system and also for the lamellar phase of the DPPC/water/CaCl2 syste m. The relaxation rate Gamma increased as Q(3). These results support the t heory presented by Zilman and Granek [Phys. Rev. Lett, 77 (1996) 4788]. Ben ding modulus of the membrane x was estimated in the C12E5/n-octane/water sy stem and in the DPPC/water/CaCl2 system using their theory. (C) 1999 Elsevi er Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
