Sirius, recently installed at KENS, is the world first time-of-flight neutr
on powder diffractometer with 28.5 m supermirror guide tube. It has realize
d both the highest resolution and intensity in Japan. Adoption of supermirr
or guide enables us to incorporate short-wavelength neutrons into structure
analyses. This, together with the high resolution, does not only improve t
he accuracy of refined atomic coordinates in Rietveld refinements, but also
extend a possibility of powder diffraction beyond average structure analys
