Abstract
Bullous pemphigoid is associated with antibodies to 2 basement membrane zon e antigens (BP230 and BP180). In some patients antibodies develop to one of these antigens, whereas in others antibodies develop to both. Although the factors behind this are unknown, our study indicates that male gender is o ne factor.
